Notabium vs Fireflies.

Fireflies built a business on the bot model. It is convenient. It is also a participant everyone sees and a recording everyone notices. Here is where Notabium fits, and where Fireflies still wins.

The 60 second answer

Fireflies' approach

Fireflies' core product is a calendar bot called Fred. Connect your Google or Microsoft calendar and Fred joins every matching meeting, captures the audio, transcribes it on Fireflies' servers, and pushes summaries into Salesforce, HubSpot, or whatever CRM you use.

Great when it works. The friction is the bot: every attendee sees "Fred" in the participant list. In external sales calls and customer interviews, that bot is a conversation point and sometimes a deal blocker.

Notabium's approach

Notabium does not force a bot onto every meeting. For calls you attend, record straight from your browser with the Notabium extension - no extra participant in the list. Transcription and AI summaries run in Notabium's cloud (ElevenLabs Scribe and Claude), and the recorder reminds you to confirm everyone was told the call is being recorded.

For meetings you cannot attend, the Notabium Notetaker joins as a clearly named participant, announces that recording started, never speaks, and stays passive. Auto-join can bring it to recurring meetings - always record the Monday standup - without forcing it into every other call on your calendar.
