// docs · getting started

Get started in three steps.

Nothing to download. Sign in, add the optional Chrome extension, then record your first call or send the Notabium Notetaker. Two minutes, start to finish.

// the short version

Three steps to your first transcript.

Most people are recording within two minutes. There is no app to install - Notabium lives in your browser and, optionally, as a Chrome extension that drops a record button straight onto your calls.

Sign in & onboard

Go to app.notabium.com, sign in, and finish the short onboarding. Pick how you want summaries written and you are set.

Add the extension

Install the Chrome extension so a record button appears right on Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams in the browser.

Record or send the notetaker

Hit record on your call, or send the Notabium Notetaker to a meeting you cannot make. The transcript and summary write themselves.

// step 01

Sign in at app.notabium.com.

Open app.notabium.com and sign in. A short onboarding connects a calendar (optional), sets your default summary style, and grants microphone permission so the browser can capture call audio.

Pro includes everything - recording, transcription, AI summaries, chat with your meetings, and the Notabium Notetaker that joins calls for you. Starts with a 7-day free trial, card required.

// step 02

Add the Chrome extension.

The extension is optional but recommended. It detects meeting URLs in your browser and adds a record button directly to Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams on the web, so you never have to switch tabs to start recording.

Add to Chrome

Add Notabium to Chrome in one click. Prefer a manual install? The developer install just below works too.

Developer install (load unpacked)

Prefer to install manually? You can load the extension unpacked instead. This is the same flow Chrome offers for any unpacked extension, and it is completely safe.

  1. Download the extension. Grab the latest notabium-extension.zip from your account at app.notabium.com (Settings → Chrome extension) and unzip it to a folder you will keep.
  2. Open the extensions page. In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions (or Menu → Extensions → Manage Extensions).
  3. Turn on Developer mode. Flip the Developer mode toggle in the top-right corner.
  4. Load unpacked. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped notabium-extension folder.
  5. Pin it. Click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and pin Notabium so the record button is always one click away.
  6. Sign in once. Click the Notabium icon and sign in with the same account. The extension now talks to your library.

That is it. Open a meeting in Zoom, Meet, or Teams web and the Notabium record button appears on the page. The one-click Add to Chrome button above is the easiest way in; the unpacked copy is just an alternative.

// step 03

Record a call, or send the notetaker.

Record yourself. Join your meeting as usual, then click record in the web app or the extension. Notabium captures the audio, writes a speaker-labelled transcript, and produces a clean summary with action items the moment the call ends. Ask it anything later by chatting with the meeting.

Send the notetaker. On Pro and Team, paste a meeting link into Notabium or turn on auto-join. The Notabium Notetaker joins your Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams call, identifies itself in the participant list, never speaks, records the conversation, and delivers it to your library - even when you cannot attend.

// faq

Questions about setup.

Yes. Add it in one click with the Add to Chrome button above. Prefer a manual install? The developer load-unpacked steps install the exact same extension in about a minute.

Which browsers and platforms work?

The web app works in any modern browser. The extension targets Chrome and Chromium browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc). The Notabium Notetaker joins Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams regardless of your browser.
