On Linux? Build from source: github.com/tcimerman/notabium-app
Notabium installs like any normal desktop app. The first launch asks for microphone and screen recording permissions, because both are needed to capture meeting audio. Then it sits quietly in the menu bar or system tray until a call starts.
Run the installer. It is around 80 MB and takes 10 seconds. No internet connection required after the download.
The app explains why it needs microphone and system audio. Click Allow once. Permissions never leave your machine.
Open a meeting, click record in the menu bar. Transcription happens locally. Your library fills up as you work.
